I never bothered to keep a portfolio of work in the past, with so much of my work being non-public reports, data, dashboards, and tools. I'm currently in the process of trying to accumulate things from the past as well as share some of my current, on-going side projects.
Maps, screenshots, project fragments, and one-off pieces of work. These are the things that do not always need a full project page but still show the work: the map that clarified a question, the screenshot from a prototype, or the small analysis that helped make a messy problem explainable.
I like to create data tools and websites to communicate the work I'm doing, to help others access data that isn't easy to see, or sometimes just for the pure challenge/joy of it.
Mostly these are tools that grew out of my own repeated need to quickly pull or view data on a topic; so why not make something for myself instead of constantly modifying code?
Regional Opportunity Scanner →
A platform for exploring the data behind a series of papers I’m writing on regional industrial structure. It doubles as a workspace for me to interrogate the data and an interactive tool for future readers to explore the methodology. It’s still a work in progress !!! and one I’m actively trying not to let distract me from finishing the papers themselves.
Suburban Call Data →
An old Levin Chair project, mothballed. Currently powered by a partially cleaned subset of suburban service call data. This proof of concept rebuilds an older tool that maps service costs to parcels to analyze the fiscal impacts of land use changes. Land use and budget layers aren't exposed yet, as it's sitting further down my queue—though funding or collaboration could quickly bump it up the list.

Part 1/2, a Levin Chair mothballed project, this interactive data explorer grew out of frustration with existing public tools for local property data. It provides an intuitive way to analyze neighborhood-level trends, focusing on property conditions, ownership, and concentration patterns. Recently updated, though the data isn't 100% complete yet. Always looking for collaborators to help push it forward!
On the Street (Workforce) →
Levin Chair mothballed project part 2/2, this was a local viewer for LODES data at the block level. You can access block level numbers, but all the tooling online is tract or larger. The data is frozen to 2021, because I haven't run the data updating script. It was built on older packages and updating/replacing those to get it functional again is where all my effort's gone so far. Cool Venn diagram.
Regional Minority Business Profile →
Profiles on regional minority business conditions (work in progress). Reframed from an unfunded Black Wealth Data Center proposal, this project uses a QuantCrit and policy accountability lens. The data infrastructure and visual reporting are set, but the underlying narrative, analysis, and use cases remain under development.
